About Research & Development Cell (R & D)
In a world increasingly propelled by technology, University research is the foundation of anynation’s economic & technological growth. The Sardar Patel University is committed to basic longtermresearch in frontier areas. Research & Development cell is an integral part of the academicactivity of the University. The R & D cell is one of the wings of the University which facilitates,channelizes, record and regulates all the academic, sponsored, collaborative research projects &consultancy works in the university. The key goal of the University is to provide a creativeatmosphere in which higher studies & research thrive amongst the faculty & students, keeping inmind University- industry interactions.
Objectives:
To create zeal amongst students & faculty members towards research & innovation
To create centers of excellence in niche area of research.
To work closely with the industrial needs that eventually will result in new or improved
products, processes, systems or services that can increase the productivity.
To foster collaborations for mutual benefits and to maximize industrial connectivity.
To establish collaborations with other national or foreign universities, public & private sectors
and identify R & D projects including consultancy services which could be undertaken at the
University.
To promote research in various departments of the University
To insure smooth functioning & effective management of R & D at the University
Action plan for Achieving outcomes:
Monitoring & guiding faculty to obtain research-grant from various funding agencies wiz.
DST/UGC/ICAR/CSIR etc.
Formulate policies for encouragement of R & D culture in the University.
Liasioning with R & D organization/ University & establish MOU with them.
Guidance & support to faculty/students for getting quality publications and patents
R & D cell in support by department Heads & department coordinators.
Active research groups in all departments & organization various research promotion activities
through research groups.
Organizations of expert sessions on projects selection & execution, writing proposals, writing
research papers and drafting patents.
